Majestic caught on camera
Majestic has diversified into the video market as part of an initiative to make wine more accessible for its customers.
The videos, which are available to download from the retailer’s website, are said to “tackle common problems” such as deciding on food and wine pairings.
Described as “much more than a simple piece of web content”, the videos are to be watched as an “expert alter ego, perfect to call upon seconds before guests arrive or browse at a more leisurely pace for furthering your own appreciation of wine and its many facets,” said the retailer.
Online marketing manager for Majestic Wine, Bethany Guard, said of the scheme: “Our videos represent a statement of intent and show how committed we are to not only educating our own staff members but our many customers who show such an interest in developing their knowledge of wines.
“We have tried to capture the essence of what makes wine so enjoyable – these videos provide a fascinating insight into the world of wine, and we look forward to developing more over the coming months.”
The first of the videos takes on the subject of cheese and wine matching, while forthcoming videos will tackle specific grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
