Guinness installs Irish table pumps
Diageo is installing Guinness-dispensing tables in pubs across Ireland as the company seeks to arrest a stagnation in sales in the world-famous stout’s domestic market.
The tables, which have been installed in 220 Irish pubs so far, are positioned with a good view of televisions in order to attract sports fans.
The tables’ taps are linked to kegs behind the main bar, while customers leave their credit cards with bar-staff to pay for a given number of drinks.
Additionally, the table will also serve Carlsberg lager due to Diageo’s distribution arrangement for the Danish beer in Ireland.
Should any punters be deemed to be drinking irresponsibly, staff will have the ability to switch off supply to the tables.
