Adnams snaps up Asda talent

Adnams has employed Asda’s former senior retail manager, Martin Wilkinson, as its new retail director for the Cellar & Kitchen brand.

Wilkinson will be responsible for the brand’s growth and development, having already identified key growth opportunities.

Wilkinson’s experience in the retail sector, dating back 20 years, makes him a valuable asset to the team at Adnams as Andy Wood, Adnams’ chief executive, described Wilkinson as “invaluable” to the development of the brand.

Wilkinson said that he was “very much looking forward to working with the team to strengthen the retail proposition of Adnams Cellar & Kitchen”, and hoped to create an exciting shopping experience along with a distinctive product range.

Adnams has nine Cellar & Kitchen stores dotted around East Anglia and London. The brand is a subsidiary of Adnams, offering quality wine, kitchenware, beer and gifts.

Adnams will soon be hiring a dedicated kitchenware buyer to help optimise further growth in that area.
