Wine library to open in Edinburgh
A comprehensive wine by the glass “library” is to open in Scotland this August providing tasting and education opportunities.
Divino Enoteca – the wine library – is the brainchild of Edinburgh restaurateur Tony Crolla and will allow consumers to taste over 200 wines by the glass from Enomatic wine dispensers.
The venue also boasts a wine education room for groups of up to 14 people. Experts will be on hand to offer tailored courses for private parties, business events and other special occasions as well as events organised by Divino Enoteca itself.
Sommelier Sebastiano Ingaliso, who has worked throughout Europe and the UK, has been chosen to manage the new venue and choose the wines available to taste.
Tony Crolla said: “Divino Enoteca will be the first place in Scotland to offer wine lovers the chance to sample some rare wines thanks to the Enomatic technology.
“It means that people who may have always wanted to try a rare vintage, but who have been denied because of the cost of a full bottle or difficulty in sourcing the wine, can now do so.”
Situated in an historic building in Edinburgh’s Old Town, Divino Enoteca will be able to make use of an enclosed courtyard during the summer and will offer a wide and varied selection of Italian foods, including marinated vegetables, olives, cured meats and cheeses.
