Savoy Grill ready to reopen
Gordon Ramsay Holdings has announced that The Savoy Grill in London will reopen in October this year following the hotel’s extensive refurbishment.
While many original features remain in place, the newest addition to the restaurant is a chef’s table situated in the kitchen itself.
A private dining room will also be available for up to 40 guests.
The Russell Sage Studio was responsible for restoring the venue to its former glory, with the 1920s Art Deco lighting, wood panelling, mohair velvet coverings and antique mirrors all making a return.
Chef director, Stuart Gillies, and head chef Andy Cook have created a menu based on quintessential British and French dishes.
Starters include boudin blanc foie gras with spiced quince while main courses cover classics such as lobster thermidor and beef Wellington.
Peach melba, created at The Savoy by culinary legend Auguste Escoffier, tops the dessert menu.
Dating back to 1889, The Savoy Grill is one of London’s most iconic restaurants and its tables have been graced by the likes of Sir Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde, Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra.
