Sainsburys appoints new wine buyer
Sainsbury’s has appointed Dror Nativ as wine buyer for Australia, New Zealand and wine formats.
Nativ will join the UK supermarket on 30 August from Spar, where he worked as wine trading manager.
Sainsbury’s announced today the appointment of Nativ who joins from Spar, where he worked as wine trading manager.
Nativ will replace Daniel Bracegirdle, who has moved to take on a buying role within the fresh meat category at the store.
Category manager Justin James said: “Dror is the latest recruit to our team, following Julie Buckley from Oddbins and David Peek from Waverley.
“It is great to have someone of Dror’s calibre. He has a wealth of trading experience and was recently shortlisted for the Young Achiever of the Year Award at the Drinks Business Awards 2010.”
“The arrival of David, Julie and Dror will put us in a great place to continue with the evolution of our wine plans; each has worked in different areas of the drinks industry and will be able to contribute a fresh perspective and build on the ideas of the existing core team of Julian Dyer and Michelle Smith.”
His departure is a further blow for Spar, which last month lost its category director for wine, Laura Jewell MW, to Tesco.
