Mistral and Michel Lynch agree UK tie-up
Mistral, the Berry Bros. and Rudd subsidiary for retail trade sales, has become the exclusive UK agent for the wines of Michel Lynch in Bordeaux and Domaine de L’Ostal Cazes in Minervois.
The properties are part of the JM Cazes Selection and mark the first in a line of new agencies for Mistral.
Commenting on the new tie-up, Andrew Bayley, Mistral’s commercial manager, pointed out that while Mistral has become renowned for its southern French and Loire-sourced wines, it has “been looking for the right partner in Bordeaux for some time”.
“We are delighted to be able to work with the Cazes family,” he added.
Jean Charles Cazes, owner of Chateau Lynch Bages & Domaine de L’Ostal Cazes, commented: “Mistral Wines have proven success with the wines from the Rhône valley, their experience and expertise in placement, distribution and development of producer’s reputations are perfectly aligned with our expectations and aspirations and we are delighted to set up this partnership with them in the UK.”
