Single malts go kosher
Moët Hennessy-owned Scotch brands Glenmorangie and Ardberg have both released kosher single malts for the US market.
Glenmorangie Original and Ashtar along with the Ardberg 10 Year Old will begin circulation in the coming months.
The kosher certification is given by the Orthodox Union, which supervises all aspects of production to make sure that the raw ingredients, distilling and bottling used by Glenmorangie are up to the correct standards.
Both whisky producers are the first to be certified kosher and will bear the symbol OU to confirm it as such.
Brian Cox, Glenmorangie US brand director, said: “At Glenmorangie we take great pride in producing Scotland’s favourite single-malt whisky, using the finest Scottish barley and hand selected American white oak casks of only the highest quality.
“The OU kosher certification will bring our iconic brand to an entirely new consumer base that can now enjoy our products.”
