MHUK appoints new MD
the drinks business can exclusively reveal Jo Thornton has been appointed the new managing director of Moët Hennessy UK.
Thornton, who was previously vice president of North East region in the US for Moët Hennessy, spent 13 years with the UK division before his move to the US in 2006.
The appointment has been welcomed by staff at the company, with one source speaking of their delight that Thornton would be returning to the Belgravia-based office.
Thornton joined Moët Hennessy UK in 1993 as sales development executive. Since then he has held various sales positions at the company before becoming the on-trade sales director in 2003. He was then appointed as senior vice president North East region, Moët Hennessy USA.
Thornton replaces Graham Boyes at the helm of the UK operation with effect from 1 July, reporting to James Cockeram, regional managing director, Moët Hennessy Europe
Boyes has been appointed to Moët Hennessy USA as executive vice president, brands.
