Bistrotheque pops up on Olympic site
Patrón Tequila is sponsoring a pop-up version of London’s trendy East End restaurant Bistrotheque. The three week project opens tomorrow on top of the Westfield Stratford City site, offering a bird’s eye view of the Olympic developments and London skyline.
Running until 4 July, Bistrotheque will serve dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, with an additional Friday and Sunday lunch service. The £75 menu includes three courses, Patrón cocktails and Loire wines.
The Bistrotheque head chef, Tom Collins, promised his dishes would capture “all that’s great about English summer dining.”
Menu options include Dorset crab, steamed sea bass with samphire and, for pudding, honey and thyme roasted peaches with marscapone.
On the cocktail front, diners can choose from options such as the Patrón Basil and Berry, made with Patrón Silver, pureed strawberries and sweet basil or the Patrón Black Magic, a mix of Patrón XO Café, Patrón Citronge and cola.
Jason Nussbaum, international brand manager for Patrón, elaborated on the brand’s cocktail focus, saying: “Ultra-premium tequila like Patrón is so versatile and mixable, and the UK’s cocktail culture is so vibrant, the growth potential for ultra-premium Tequila in the UK is enormous.”
Referring to this project as “the Rolls Royce of pop-ups”, Pablo Flack, co-owner of Bistrotheque explained: "When Westfield approached us to do something on the roof of their still-being-built Stratford City development, we instinctively felt the structure should be built from everyday materials found around the site, be very design-led and to match up to the stunning views, truly iconic.”
The pop-up forms part of Studio East, a cultural initiative by Westfield Stratford City designed to celebrate East London’s creative spirit and emerging talent.
