Arabian nights and opera in SW1
Alfresco dining area Courtyard at 51 Buckingham Gate in London has opened for its second summer season with a programme of opera and Arabian Night themed evenings.
Grand Marnier is to sponsor the pop-up until it closes in September and a collection of cocktails have been designed using the drink, including the Grand Esprit with elderflower and strawberries.
For four nights only, Courtyard at 51 will be hosting opera evenings on the Juliet balcony with The Covent Garden Strings Company performing newly written works inspired by the venue’s Victorian heritage and Shakespeare’s sylvan plays such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream and As You Like It.
The opera evenings are taking place on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 July and Friday 20 and Saturday 21 August. Dinner and performance costs from £59 per person.
The menu includes sautéed tiger prawns with garlic and tomatoes and whole baked sea bass with almond chermoula (marinade).
For the rest of the year, the outdoor grill will be preparing Arabian, southern Indian, Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine.
Courtyard at 51 is open from noon until late evening until September.
