Vinexpo – The Business Designer

For its 8th show outside France, Vinexpo, the international wine and spirits exhibition, is again travelling to Hong Kong just as it did in 1998, 2006 and 2008.

Vinexpo Asia-Pacific 2010 will take place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre from 25 to 27 May 2010.

After the success of its previous exhibitions in Hong Kong, Vinexpo Asia-Pacific is today recognised as the benchmark event in the region.

The exhibition will represent the largest showcase of wines and spirits ever exhibited under one roof in Asia. Everything is being organised to ensure that these 3 days will generate business.

The world of wine and spirits on show at Vinexpo

In order to accommodate a growing number of requests for stand space, Vinexpo decided to increase its overall exhibition area by adding an extra hall. This year, 800 exhibitors from 30 countries will occupy 8,500 sq. m of floor space.

A worldwide offering

Companies from all over the world will exhibit individually or in national pavilions. The US, Spain, Chile and Germany will be significant participants. Sites have also been reserved for the Italian, Argentinean and Romanian pavilions, as well as for companies and the regions of China and South Africa.

Among the major international names to feature at the show are: Dynasty Fine Wines and Dragonet (China), Santa Rita and San Pedro (Chile), Henkell & Co (Germany), Cape Legends (South Africa), Marques de Riscal and Gonzales-Byass (Spain), Sogrape (Portugal), Hayman Distillers (UK) and Banfi Distribuzione and Casa Vinicola Zonin (Italy).

France to be substantially represented

The French producers from Bordeaux (Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Castel Frères, Joanne), from Burgundy (Louis Jadot, Patriarche), from Champagne (Lanson, Louis Roederer), Alsace (Grands Chais de France), Languedoc (Jeanjean), Côtes du Rhône (Chapoutier), Sancerre (Henri Bourgeois), Cognac (Camus) and Gers (Tariquet) will be present in large numbers. Alongside these individual stands, a French pavilion to be managed by Sopexa, will also bring together many French wine-producing companies.

A unique opportunity to see products from all over the world in one place

The exhibition is for industry professionals from Asia-Pacific only and offers visitors a unique oppor-tunity to find out about wines and spirits from all over the world in one single location. More than 9,500 professional visitors including importers, wholesalers, food & beverage managers, sommeliers, hyper- and supermarket buyers, etc., are expected here at the very heart of this fast-developing re-gion of consumers.

The Vinexpo Asia-Pacific Academy to acquire deeper knowledge

The Vinexpo Asia-Pacific Academy features more than 30 events over 3 days and enables visitors to develop and perfect their knowledge of the wine and spirits industry. These events are either free access, by invitation or require the Certificated Programme Pass.

Within the Academy, 12 master classes addressing 3 themes make up the Certificated Programme. To attend these special sessions, a Certificated Programme Pass is required, which can be obtained from the website www.vinexpo.com.

The Academy will also include some major tastings presented by bodies such as Wines of Argentina, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE), Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux and Deutsches Weinsinstitut, which will provide unrivalled opportunities to travel the world of taste and become familiar with some of the greatest wine-producing areas.

Vinexpo Asia-Pacific is organising presentations by some of the world’s best known speakers in the industry: Michel Rolland (Flying wine maker), Andreas Larsson (Best Sommelier in the world 2007), Jeannie Cho Lee (Master of Wine) and David Elswood (Christie’s).
