Noval launches Black
Quinta do Noval has launched Black in the UK, a modern Port designed to attract drinkers who want Port “without complications” and that can be drunk “anytime, anywhere”.
The UK release follows the launch of Black in the US, which is believed to have been a success due to its ability to attract both traditional and contemporary Port drinkers.
The fruit in Noval Black includes Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinto Cao from vineyards that have been part of Quinta do Noval’s huge replanting programme, which has been taking place for the last 15 years.
Christian Seely, managing director of AXA Millésimes, said: “I have always wanted to make a Port that would be a clear expression of the Noval style, easily accessible as a wine that could be poured by the glass, with no need to age or decant. No complications, just a great glass of Port. Anytime and anywhere.”
The quinta suggests that Noval Black can be enjoyed as a chilled aperitif, to partner black iced coffee, or as a partner to dark chocolate.
The wine has an RRP of £14.99. Contact Noval’s UK agents, Gonzalez Byass for further details.
