No Nonsense returns

John Smith’s Bitter has recruited Peter Kay to once again front its advertising campaign, five years after he last lent his name to the brand.

A trio of new adverts starring the former Phoenix Nights star will air nationally for six weeks.

Gareth Turner, senior brand manager at Heineken UK, brand owner of John Smith’s, said: “We reckon Peter’s return has come just at the right time.

"Four weeks of political campaigning is bound to have taken its toll on the Great British public – they’re in need of some no nonsense and a decent dose of light relief and Peter is the perfect man to deliver both.
