First bar for Fluid Movement
Fluid Movement, the bartending consultancy firm, is due to open the first bar of its own in London’s Marylebone.
Called Purl, the venue is being set up with the aim of “taking cocktail drinking in the capital to a new level”.
Currently undergoing the final stages of refurbishment, Purl is located on the site of the former Dock Blida bar on Blandford Street.
The basement venue consists of a main bar and several smaller seating areas, offering an intimate vaulted space for small groups.
Directed by Thomas Aske, Bryan Pietersen, Tristan Stephenson and Matt Whiley, Fluid Movement has offered its services to over 200 bars around the UK including The Ritz, Claridges, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen and most recently, Drake & Morgan’s latest London addition, The Anthologist, which opened on Gresham Street last month.
Commenting on this latest step for the company, the Fluid Movement team explained: “The history around Marylebone fits perfectly with Purl’s concept and the luxury drinking environment we are creating, bringing forgotten and classic cocktails into the modern era.”
