Waitrose co-hosts online wine tasting
Supermarket Waitrose is teaming up with Oz Clarke to participate in the UK’s largest online wine tasting.
Portugal’s Big Tasting will be streamed live to a London branch of Waitrose and a London branch of Waitrose’s owner, department store John Lewis.
The tasting in which Waitrose is participating is being hosted by Clarke at Lord’s cricket ground during a Portuguese consumer tasting.
At 7pm on Monday 12 April, Clarke and the Waitrose wine team will be tasting a selection of Portuguese wines, including Sir Cliff Richard’s wine, Vida Nova.
Consumers can participate in the event by attending the tasting at Lord’s, by visiting either London store – Waitrose Canary Wharf or John Lewis’ Food Hall in Oxford Street – or by purchasing the wines in advance from Waitrose and tasting at home while watching Clarke host the tasting online through www.thebigtasting.com or www.waitrosewine.com
The Portuguese tasting at Lord’s takes place from 6pm-8pm and tickets cost £15 each.
Co-organisers of this online Portuguese wine initiative are ViniPortugal, Wines of Portugal, Waitrose, John Lewis’ Food Hall, Cata Vino, Adegga.com and JK Marketing.
