New agents for Rhone wine venture
Pol Roger has announced the addition of new négociants Maison Nicolas Perrin to its portfolio.
The venture is the result of a “long-term friendship” with the Perrin family who come from Chateau Beaucastel in the southern Rhône.
Maison Perrin is under the management of Nicolas Jaboulet and has already released its 2007 vintage, including: a Hermitage red and white, a Côte Rôtie and a Saint Joseph.
There are plans to expand the listings to include other Appellations in the future.
Jaboulet said: “With my knowledge and considerable experience of the Rhône, the selection and over-seeing of the winemaking and the subsequent link with Perrin’s cellars, we will deliver wines which respect the terroir of the individual appellations.
“In addition Maison Nicolas Perrin’s wines, through meticulous selection and elevage, will not be over-extracted but will be well balanced, elegant and food-friendly and therefore suitable for restaurants and quality-conscious retailers alike”.
