Hine latest hits the market
A new Hine Antique XO Premier Cru has now been released across all markets.
A bespoke blend of over 40 Cognacs from the Grand Champagne district, Hine Antique XO was first created in 1920 by George Hine.
At the time, the development of this mature style flew in the face of the prevailing fashion for young Cognac.
Eric Forget, cellar master at Hine, revealed that while the average age of the Cognacs used in this latest blend is 20 years old, it also contains Cognac from as far back as the 1944 vintage.
While retaining its distinctive decanter-shaped bottle, the new Hine Antique XO Premier Cru features cutting edge technology to replace the label with a polished pewter-effect plaque, decorated with silk-screening and embossed branding.
Closed with a matching stopper, the product is presented in an embossed red and grey gift box.
In the UK, Hine Antique XO Premier Cru retails from £120 a bottle and is available in specialist, high-end venues including Harvey Nichols and Berry Bros & Rudd.
In the on-trade, the product is offered by London venues The Coburg Bar at The Connaught Hotel and Roussillon in Chelsea, where chef patron Alexis Gauthier has created a special new dessert in its honour.
This dish of soft gingerbread and orange marmalade with fresh orange and Cognac cream is designed to complement the distinctive flavours in the blend.
