Glenfiddich breaks new ground

Glenfiddich has ventured into new territory with the release of its first virgin European oak cask whisky.

The 14-year-old single malt Scotch whisky, launched last week, has been finished in untouched American and European oak casks.

Brian Kinsman, malt master at Glenfiddich, has been instrumental throughout the final stages of the whisky’s nurturing process.

Kinsman maintains that the whisky is a new and complex harmony of rich flavours derived from a virgin oak.

Glenfiddich is produced by William Grant & Sons, which also makes Hendrick’s Gin, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum and other whiskies including Grant’s and The Balvenie.

The recommended retail price for a 70cl bottle is £30.99.
