Cielo offers late night London bite

A new venture combining a restaurant, lounge bar and art gallery will offer Londoners a stylish late night venue when it opens next week.

Cielo launches on 15 March at 3, Burlington Street in Mayfair, open until 4am.

Head chef Monserrato Marini arrives via stints at Caffe Caldesi in Marylebone and Caffe Campagna in Bray. His menu contains influences from his native Sardinia, with dishes including culatello di zibello with pear and acacia honey dressing; fillet of lamb wrapped in pancetta stuffed with rosemary and black truffles from Norcia and for pudding, stecche di bomboloni with nutella.

The exclusively Italian wine list, starting at £22 a bottle, has been compiled by Cielo’s director, Tobia Speranza. Meanwhile Andreas Jansson, formerly of the Cuckoo Club, will oversee the cocktail list.

Exhibition details are due to be announced in the next few weeks, but the gallery is intended to display works by a wide variety of artists, both new and established.

Located on a mezzanine above the 40-seat restaurant, the lounge comes complete with a glass roof which can be opened during the summer.

Cielo will be open Tuesday to Saturday evenings from 6pm with last orders for food at 11.30pm.

For reservations call +44 (0)207 297 2893.
