First growths for a fiver at Laithwaites
First growth clarets will be sold for £5 a bottle to celebrate the opening of the new Laithwaites store in Vinopolis.
Unconfirmed vintages of Mouton, Lafite and Haut-Brion will be among the 500 ‘mystery’ bottles for sale, as the UK’s largest independent merchant opens its flagship store in London.
Laithwaites’ Wine Lucky Dip, which also includes “other established classics and New World discoveries”, will be made available for a 12-hour period on Saturday 20 February.
As well as picking up a mystery bottle, customers are invited to taste a selection of Laithwaites wines from one of the world’s longest wine tasting tables.
The store will be opened officially at 4pm this Friday, 19 February, by the Mayor of Southwark, councillor Jeff Hook.
Laithwaites announced its intention of opening a flagship store in December last year.
