The Centenary Rheingau Riesling Review 2010

The Verband Rheingauer Prädikatsweingüter (“VDP – Rheingau”) requests the pleasure of your company to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter at The Centenary Rheingau Riesling Review 2010.

A tasting of current and historical vintages showcasing modern dry Erstes Gewächs to classic Spätlese and noble sweet Rheingau Rieslings, with the unique opportunity to taste red and white wines from some of the most celebrated vintages of the last 70 years.

Date: Thursday 11 February 2010
Timing: 11 am– 5pm (a light lunch will be served from 12-2pm)
Location: German House, 34 Belgrave Square, SW1 (click for map)

The Rheingau boasts the world’s greatest concentration of Riesling vines – 90% of white plantings.  Seventeen growers will showcase the versatile style of the region’s Rieslings – from wines with luscious fruit which set the international benchmark for elegant sweet Riesling to modern dry Erstes Gewächs wines that show intense minerality and depth of fruit.  This tasting will demonstrate the evolving style but continued quality of fine Rheingau wines.
