Thorpe to head up Negociants UK
Simon Thrope MW has been appointed managing director of Negociants UK. Thorpe leaves his position as vice president premium wines and wine development at Constellation Europe to join the company, and said he was "delighted" with his new role.
Thorpe said of his new company: "It is a business that represents wineries which encapsulate all that is great about the Australian wine industry.
"Innovative, diverse, bold, and above all, quality driven, the breadth and excellence of the portfolio of wineries and brands is what has brought me to work with this fantastic family-owned business," he added.
Negociants’ international director, Brenton Fry said of Thorpe’s appointment: "This will add increased depth and vision to our sales and marketing team and will enable us to maximise our portfolio across all channels."
Thorpe will assume overall responsibility at the firm on 14 December.
