The Wahoo factor
Cavendish Bars are injecting some West Coast cool into Oldham. The group chose the Lancashire town as the location for its third Wahoo Bar, taking over the site formerly occupied by a Walkabout Inn.
Wahoo Bars are bidding hard to attract the sports viewing crowd, with multiple screens in each venue, complete with scantily clad staff serving ice cold beers, cocktails and baskets of the house special, “Wahoo Wings”.
A string of top DJs keeps the party going long after the full time whistle has blown.
Cavendish Bars was established in 2008, since when it has acquired 27 bar sites from Luminar Group Holdings and a further seven from Regent Inns, owner of Jongleurs and Walkabout, which went into a pre-pack administration in October.
The first Wahoo bar opened in Southampton this September, closely followed by the Putney branch in October.
