Foodie festival meets urban cool
Get ready for a new food and drink festival with a difference. “Towardsa Fluid State” launches in London on 5 December at a secret warehousein Dalston.
The festival aims to combine foodie heaven with a platformfor some of the UK’s hottest contemporary artists, musicians anddesigners.
Visitors will be offered the chance to immerse themselves in flights of Cognac, whisky, gin and sake, as well as a selection of natural and biodynamic wines, each paired with its own dish.
To raise this offer above the run-of-the-mill sampling experience, the organisers have worked closely with producers and distributors to ensure each flight includes an extra special feature, whether it’s a 100 year old Cognac or a silent whisky distillery.
Founder Angella Newell explains: “It’s not a farmers market, nor is it anything like Taste London. This is about delivering unusual and compelling experiences around what people eat and drink.”
If the organisers have their way, December’s festival will prove to be just the tip of the iceberg. Co-founder Hayley Sudbury reveals: “This is a proof of concept for a much larger scale event in summer 2010.”
The festival runs from 3-11pm with timed entry. For tickets and more information, click here
