Bordeaux Index launches wine tours

Fine wine merchant Bordeaux Index has launched a service offering tours of top estates in France’s most famous wine regions.

From April next year the UK-based business will use its connections with châteaux, hotels and restaurants in Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne to provide luxury breaks.

“Frequent requests by our clients to arrange bespoke tours has prompted the launch of the new service,” said Gary Boom, managing director, Bordeaux Index.

“We are the only UK-based wine merchant doing this – it’s another opportunity to further enhance the many services we offer our clients.

“Of course there are companies offering wine tours but none have the connections to the high brow estates which we enjoy,” he continued.

“Indeed, some of the châteaux are not on the regular beaten visitor track, but our relationships will gain us access.”

He also said he hopes to offer tours of the Rhône and Italian wine regions in the future, and include the likes of truffle hunting and cookery demonstrations.

The tours will start from £550 and Bordeaux Index said that they can provide dining at a château, Michelin-starred restaurants, wine tastings, guides, chauffeuring, accommodation, additional activities such as golf and trips to Paris, and travel arrangements.
