Ruinart’s dream tea
Champagne Ruinart is taking afternoon tea to the next level at the Miller Harris Tea Rooms in London’s Mayfair district this month.
The house has joined forces with perfumer Lyn Harris to create a spread specially designed to accentuate the flavours of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs.
The collaboration developed when Harris visited Ruinart’s cellars in Reims and met with head winemaker Fred Panaiotis.
“I was deeply inspired by what I experienced at Ruinart as there are so many parallels between winemaking and perfumery”, explained Harris.
As a result of her analysis of the Blanc de Blancs, Harris selected an assortment of cakes from London’s Primrose Bakery, including apricot friands and lemon meringue cupcakes, designed to complement the prominent white and citrus fruit aromas she detected in the Champagne.
The Ruinart afternoon tea is available at the tea rooms on Bruton Street for £19 a head throughout October, from 3pm until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
