Scrum dine with me

They’ve proved their abilities on the sporting stage, but now the stars of the international rugby world are being asked to demonstrate their skills in the kitchen.

Vivek Singh, executive chef of London’s Indian fine dining restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen has teamed up with Wooden Spoon, a charity supporting mentally and physically disabled children, to create “Scrum Dine With Me”.

On 21 October, Jason Leonard OBE, Martin Offiah MBE and Lee Mears will take over the Singh’s kitchen for a heavyweight cook off.

Food critics Charles Campion and Kate Spicer will taste their efforts and offering a brutally honest opinion to the audience.

All the action will be covered live by Sky Sports, although those wishing to feel the heat in the kitchen for themselves can buy tickets to the event for £125 per person.

This includes cocktails and canapés in the restaurant’s bar, Anise, before tasting the rugby stars’ four-course meal for yourself. After dinner and an auction of money-can’t-buy prizes, the ‘Scrum Dine With Me’ winner will be announced.

For tickets, call +44 (0) 20 7626 5000, or email events@cinnamon-kitchen.com
