Pho 24 arrives in UK
Asian fast-food restaurant Pho 24 has signed a franchise deal to open 30 restaurants in the UK. The first of these is set to launch in London on 18 October.
The UK franchise has been agreed with Leisure Space Group, with openings to be rolled out over the next 15 years. Vietnam-based Pho 24 began trading in 2003 and already has restaurants in Singapore, Cambodia, South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia. In June the company signed a contract to expand into Hong Kong and Macau.
The name of the restaurant comes from pho, a beef noodle soup, which is one of the most popular dishes in Vietnam.
Andy Ho, managing director of VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund (VOF), the investment company behind the chain, commented: “We are very pleased with the overseas expansion of this investee company, and are certain that Pho 24 will prove as popular in Europe as it has in Asia…I look forward to my first bowl of pho in London.”
