Cape Escape
If you’re lucky enough to find yourself in the Cape in the next few weeks, there are a couple of tempting culinary offers set to make your visit all the more enjoyable.
The Durbanville Wine Valley’s Season of Sauvignon celebrations take place from 3-4 October. Relax with a picnic on the lawns in front of the Durbanville Hills cellar with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and soak up the stunning views of Table Mountain.
The organisers are laying on a sushi bar, music and – for younger guests perhaps – facepainting and sand art.
On the Saturday, helicopter rides will be available for a bird’s eye view across the Durbanville valley. For R500, these will ferry guests between three farms with tastings laid on at each.

Meanwhile over in Stellenbosch, Simonsig’s restaurant Cuvée is offering a special business lunch deal.
For R150, come and hold your meeting over the specially designed “Winelands Escape” two course menu and glass of Simonsig wine.
Dishes on the menu include Cape Malay-style butter chicken with fresh ginger, masala and fennel, as well as butternut, spinach and ricotta cannelloni, dressed with Viognier cream.
The menu is available Tuesdays to Fridays until the end of October. To book a table, contact cuvee@simonsig.co.za
