Aspall pushes pies
Aspall has developed a speciality pie in conjunction with Fuller’s.
The initiative marks the latest step in the cider brand’s expansion into the premium end of the UK on-trade and its ongoing focus on food and cider matching.
The chicken, apple and Aspall pie will be available in 12 Fuller’s Ale & Pie pubs across London for the next six months at least.
Fuller’s has been using its own ales as a core pie ingredient for several years now, but this marks the first time another brand has been used in the pubco’s recipes.
Geoff Bradman, commercial director for Aspall explained how “the dryness of Aspall Draught Suffolk Cyder beautifully complements the sweetness of the Braeburn apples used in the pie.”
Customers can also wash down their pie with a glass of either Aspall Draught Suffolk Cyder, or the Aspall Perronelle’s Blush, both of which were introduced to the Fuller’s drinks offer two months ago.
