Spreading the good news in East London
Bottle Apostle is a new independent retailer bringing a fresh approach to wine buying and tasting to the residents of East London.
Located in Victoria Park Village, the retailer features 32 wines for customers to try before they buy, thanks to its adoption of the Enomatic machines, which are fast becoming the main talking point of so many new wine enterprises.
As those familiar with this system will know, the sampling process is as simple as putting credit on your top up card, inserting it into the machine and selecting your wine of choice. Bottle Apostle updates its selection each month, with several of the wines featured being exclusive to the venue.
Tom Jarvis, the shop’s general manager, comments: “At Bottle Apostle you can school yourself about the world of wine or just buy a bottle safe in the knowledge that you’ll love it.” He adds: “Our goal is to make buying wine interesting, easy and good fun.”
The shop also hosts tasting events every few weeks, led by Jarvis. Each aims to guide customers through a wide range of styles and prices within a particular theme. This Wednesday offers a blind tasting which pitches Old World against New World, while the line up for early September includes a food and wine matching workshop and an introduction to New Zealand.
Bottle Apostle also stocks a range of rare spirits and specialist beers, as well as glassware and accessories. The shop aims to be offering a online purchase and delivery service by the end of the year, but in the meantime, customers can take advantage of free parking on the street outside.
