September’s Sud de France onslaught
UK retailers will focus heavily on the promotion of wines from the South of France in September as part of the Sud de France Festival of Food and Wine. Laithwaites, Oddbins and Waitrose will all participate in various marketing initiatives for the region.
Throughout September, 132 Oddbins stores will host free tastings of Sud de France wines with selected wines on special offer, while mail order and high street store Laithwaites will offer a Midi Mix wine case of 12 award-winning red wines for £79.99.
Meanwhile, any consumer buying a bottle of Sud de France wine in any of the 199 Waitrose supermarkets across the UK will be eligible to enter a competition to win a luxury weekend break in the Languedoc-Roussillon region for two people.
The festival will start in London on 4 September, moving to Mexico, Brazil, the US, China and Italy over the course of September and October.
