New gift pack holds DP duo
Moët-Hennessy has unveiled a new container designed to hold two bottles of Dom Pérignon from the same vintage but with different cellaring.
Called Side-by-Side, the sleek black gift box contains Dom Perignon Vintage 1995 and Oenothèque 1995 – the same wine but with five years extra ageing on its lees. The packaging format has been created to highlight the impact of extended lees ageing on the Champagne’s character.
Dom Pérignon describe the new format as “a special indulgence for wine lovers who want to explore the mystery of vintage Champagne and how it ages.”
The further five years lees ageing on the Dom Perignon Oenothèque is said to give the wine “extra depth and dimension, magnifying the intensity and characteristics of the vintage.”
Dom Pérignon will continue to offer its Power Trio gift pack which includes the most recent vintages of three different Dom Pérignon expressions. For this year the Power Trio contains Dom Pérignon Blanc Vintage 2000, Rosé Vintage 1998 and Oenothèque 1995.
The Power Trio is currently available in Selfridges and Harrods for £680.
