Bulldog takes to the skies

The sky’s the limit for Bulldog Gin, as the brand sponsors the second annual Bulldog UK Challenge.

Saturday 25 July sees over 30 two-seater planes race from Abbeville to Dover in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the first aerial crossing of the Channel by Louis Blériot.

The gin brand will also be sponsoring its own plane in the race. British pilot Roger Hayes will be in the cockpit of the Bulldog ex-military aircraft, which can muster a top speed of 145mph.

Hayes said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to follow in the footsteps of a great aviation pioneer, so you can bet we are going for a fantastic win for Britain and for Bulldog Gin.”

Organised by the UK’s Royal Aero Club Racing and Rally Association, the race will proceed from the Somme Estuary along the northern coast of France, before heading over the Channel to the finish line on the white cliffs of Dover.

This is the latest in a string of bold marketing tie-ins for Bulldog, which last year sponsored the world’s biggest-ever arm wrestling contest.
