Joanna Simon parts company with The Sunday Times
The Sunday Times has called time on Joanna Simon’s weekly wine column. The decision was made by the paper as a cost-saving measure, and its wine coverage will now be written in-house. Simon’s column will continue to feature until the end of March, when her 22-years as the paper’s wine writer come to a close.
Commenting on the end of an era, Simon said: "It’s obviously a blow, but it was good while it lasted." She will continue to contribute cookery articles for the paper’s Style magazine and has numerous other wine writing commitments, especially for The Wine Gang, which she co-founded last year.
Simon also contributes regularly to magazines including Decanter, Square Meal and Classic FM magazine, where she has a new monthly wine page. She continues in her post as panel chair for the International Wine Challenge, as well as giving wine talks, tastings and training sessions.
