Wolf Blass fuels rugby fever
Wolf Blass is launching fresh promotions in time for the 2009 Six Nations as part of its England Rugby sponsorship. The Australian brand is targeting both the on- and off-trade to offer consumers the chance to win tickets to Six Nations games.
Select UK bars and pubs will carry Wolf Blass promotional posters, featuring a number which rugby fans can then text to win match tickets. A further consumer promotion is also being run in Waitrose via the supermarket’s website. Those visiting the site can win tickets to the England v France game on 15 March at Twickenham.
The Australian brand is also official wine supplier to the Rugby Football Union, recommended on all RFU wine lists in hospitality packages, executive boxes and stadium bars. In addition, a dedicated Wolf Blass bar will stand by the Twickenham entrance, allowing rugby fans to sample and buy selected wines.
Wolf Blass brand manager, Annabel Keech, commented on the deal, saying: “Our association with rugby, and in particular with the Six Nations at Twickenham, is a great fit for the Wolf Blass brand and our target market. We’ve partnered with top sports and sporting events in Australia for many years and the Six Nations really is the best of the best of Northern Hemisphere rugby”.
The Six Nations kicks off on Saturday 7th February with England v Italy at Twickenham.
