Sample or simply relax at the French Wines Discovery Lounge

A broad range of wine producing regions will be in evidence at Wine+ but France will be the best-represented country, largely due to The French Wines Discovery Lounge, a 266m² space dedicated to all things Gallic.

The Discovery Lounge will comprise a tasting area, showcasing a diverse and comprehensive range of French wines, and a lounge area in which visitors can conduct business or simply relax.

The French Wines Discovery Lounge has also added a ‘Good value for money’ counter, and a ‘Little gems’ stall, exhibiting wines from all over France. This fits in with the rest of Wine+, which has an overriding emphasis this year on value.

Interestingly, a survey conducted for Wine+ in November 2008 showed that the most stocked wines in the on-trade were French, with 93% of the companies questioned serving wines from France.

It was also the best-selling country, with 50% saying that a French wine was their top seller. However, some did feel that wines from France were ‘over-priced’. Only 8% of those surveyed ‘strongly agreed’ that French wines represented value for money.
