Jose Cuervo kicks off Mexican support
Jose Cuervo will unveil its partnership with the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IME) at this evening’s Mexico vs Sweden football match. The tequila producers are long-standing sponsors of the Mexican national team in the US, and this new collaboration looks to develop their connection with the Mexican people.
Ramon Ramirez, one of Mexico’s highest-capped players, has been chosen by Jose Cuervo to announce the contributions. Before kick-off the retired footballer will present $10,000 to the Consul General of Mexico in San Francisco, which is accepting the funds on behalf of the IME Grants.
The donation will go towards adult education programmes for Mexican immigrants living in the US, and is the first in a series of contributions to the IME at Mexican football matches this year.
Toby Whitmoyer, brand director for Jose Cuervo, asserted, “We recognise the responsibility that Jose Cuervo as a brand has within society, and from a cultural significance, the greater Mexican community.”
