Canadian whisky to salute the king in all of us
Crown Royal Canadian blended whisky will debut its first national advertising campaign in five years this month. The two 30-second spots, entitled "Set" and "Billiards", will air across the US in the run-up to Christmas. They depict everyday people as kings of their own world, thanks to the small yet notable things they do.
The origins of the Crown Royal brand date back to 1939 when the first bottles, wrapped in the purple velvet and gold tasseled bag that the brand is known for, were specially blended to commemorate a grand tour of Canada made by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain.
The Crown Royal portfolio includes Crown Royal Deluxe, Crown Royal Reserve, Crown Royal Cask No.16 and Crown Royal XR. Earlier this year, Crown Royal Reserve was re-launched with premium packaging.
"This new advertising campaign is another step towards establishing a strong and lasting emotional connection with our consumers," said Ami-Lynn Bakshi, vice president of Crown Royal. "When adults select Crown Royal as their drink of choice, it confirms the fact that they are kings of their world at that particular moment."
The adverts were created by Grey Worldwide New York and directed by Fredrik Bond.
