Inspirit appoints Slim Williamson

Drinks marketing company Inspirit Brands has appointed a new company chairman. Slim Williamson, who is known for launching Angostura rum to the UK market and revitalising the Krug brand, will replace outgoing chairman John Coe.

Williamson, who has thirty years experience working with iconic brands and helped set up London wine distributor Paragon Vintners, has been welcomed by Inspirit in the hopes that he will use his brand building and brand-equity experience to grow the company.

James Shelbourne, managing director of Inspirit Brands, said: “Slim will help to drive Inspirit Brands forward, proactively growing our portfolio and developing all aspects of the business. It’s always good to have a fresh pair of eyes, but accompanied with such a wealth of experience and achievement, we will certainly be in very good hands”.

Williamson is equally excited about joining Inspirit, “I am delighted and fortunate to be joining a business that is already well known and respected within the industry.” His objectives are clear: “My aim is to help the management push the business forward, growing existing brands whilst also looking to attract new additions to the portfolio”. He also added that Inspirit would look in more detail at a Champagne should the opportunity arise.
