Auchentoshan launches limited edition
Auchentoshan Distillery has launched a new limited edition expression exclusively for selected duty free and travel retail outlets. The Auchentoshan 1988 Bordeaux Wine Finish is a vintage single malt matured in bourbon barrels for 8 years, followed by 12 years maturation in Saint-Julien Bordeaux wine casks.Â
Karen Christie, marketing manager for Auchentoshan, said: “Travellers purchasing in the Duty Free and Travel Retail environment are faced with an overwhelming range of single malts everyday so it is important that the limited editions we introduce are nothing short of world class."
Auchentoshan, meaning ‘corner of the field’ in Gaelic, is one of only three remaining working lowland distilleries in Scotland. Established in 1823 on the outskirts of Glasgow, it is home to Scotland’s only triple distilled single malt whisky.
The new expression will be limited to 1,800 bottles, with an ABV of 52.4%, and an RRSP of £100.
