Sen to leave Alcohol Concern
Alcohol Concern’s chief executive Srabani Sen is leaving the organisation for a leading role at a charity called Contact a Family. The trustees of Alcohol Concern will be advertising the position of chief executive at the end of this month and hope to appoint a new CEO in March this year.
Srabani Sen joined Alcohol Concern as chief executive in 2004. She was a key player in setting up the new Drinkaware Trust as an independent body, funded by the drinks industry, to reduce alcohol harm.
Prior to joining Alcohol Concern she was acting director for Diabetes UK.
“I have really enjoyed my time at Alcohol Concern and it is heartening to see alcohol issues achieving so much more prominent a position on the political, media & public agenda,” Sen said.
“I consider it a privilege to have been able to contribute to the reshaping of the alcohol agenda.”
