Bols launches bartending academy
Dutch liqueur brand Bols has launched a new bartending academy in Amsterdam. The new bar school is the largest in Europe with 12 workstations that will be used to train professionals…
– and consumers who are interested in participating in a flair workshop.
The development underlines the need for excellence in the world of cocktails, teaching bartenders valuable skills from mixology and flairing to the more mundane tasks, such as efficient bar management. The courses are aimed at professionals of all levels of competence.
Nikki Morrison, UK brand manager, says: “Bartenders are the top priority for Bols and the Bols Bartending Academy is the perfect way to inspire bartenders and demonstrate our support of the professionals who are dedicated to creating great tasting drinks and cocktails. The academy and the House of Bols are fantastic resources which we wish to share with Bols bartenders and customers in the UK. Bartenders can attend short crash courses on cocktail making or spend four days at the academy learning the industry inside out as part of the basic training course. For those interested in flair, it offers an international flair bartending course as well as courses in bar management and maximising profits using cocktails. There’s a course at the academy for everyone, whether you’re a bartender who’s just starting out or a skilled mixologist who wants to brush up on bar management.”
Bols has been produced in Amsterdam since the 16th Century. The company has built a new visitor centre alongside the academy outlining the brand’s colourful history.
