Cobra names new marketing director
Cobra Beer has appointed PepsiCo’s Will Ghali as marketing director, replacing Simon Edwards. This move forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen the company’s management team during a period of significant expansion in a number of markets.
The company recently appointed Adrian McKeon, formerly managing director at Beam, as its chief executive.
Ghali’s role at Pepsi was as UK and Ireland marketing director for juice and smoothies. Before this he was marketing director for Nutricia. Speaking about his appointment, he commented: “The brand has come so far, but there’s still so much potential to take it to the next level – especially in the mainstream market.”
Lord Karan Bilimoria, executive chairman at Cobra, commented: “With Adrian and now Will joining Cobra, I am more confident than ever that we can continue to succeed in our mission to brew the finest ever Indian beer and to make it a global beer brand.”
Ghali will assume his new role in September.
