Sports channel bans alcohol ads
A new sports channel in the US is the first to operate without revenues from alcohol advertising. Beer is one of the biggest spending industries in American television. The new channel will be operated by the Fox Cable Network. George Hacker of the anti-alcohol pressure group Centre for Science in the Public Interest said, “this proves that alcohol revenue isn’t necessary to run a profitable sports television venture.”
