Euromonitor International forecasts that volume sales of cider/perry will grow by 7.2%
Euromonitor International forecasts that volume sales of cider/perry will grow by an average annual rate of 7.2% between 2005-2010. Value sales are expected to grow by 10% per year over the same period, following a move towards premium brands
Report of Week
After several years of unremarkable performance, cider/perry sales in the UK rebounded in 2005. Volume sales increased to just less than 670 million litres with a climb of nearly 12% on a year earlier. This growth was primarily the result of two central factors. Firstly, the acquisition of Bulmer by Scottish & Newcastle which gave cider/perry some much-needed impetus and secondly, the entrance of the Magners brand.
