BUSINESS: APPOINTMENTS – Newton takes on Bacardi role
Bacardi-Martini has announced that Liam Newton will take on the role of director of marketing.
He will be responsible for driving the marketing strategies to support the company’s two eponymous brands: the Bacardi rum portfolio as well as Martini vermouth.
Newton is well prepared for his new role with the company. His previous employment includes extensive experience in the drinks trade as the brands director at InBev – this involved working to develop an enviable stable of top brands including Stella Artois, Beck’s, Boddingtons, Leffe and Hoegaarden.
He also held the position of head of brand marketing for Nestlé-Rowntree.
The focus of his new position, which he assumed at the beginning of October, will be developing and executing a creative consumer marketing strategy for a range of brands. He reports to marketing director Andrew Carter.
