Maxxium to hand over distribution of Whyte & Mackay
After distributing Whyte & Mackay blended Scotch whisky and Vladivar vodka for seven years in the British market, Maxxium UK has confirmed that it will hand over distribution on 1 March 2007 to brand owners Whyte & Mackay.
Whyte & Mackay are currently embarking on a recruitment drive to build up a sales force for the brands as well as developing its own duty-free team following the planned expiry of its global travel retail contract with Maxxium Worldwide on 1 October this year.
David Brown, head of the UK on-trade team for Whyte & Mackay told the drinks business that the company "wants a share of the blended whisky market in England."
