Business Appointments: Brauer to lead PR USA
STEPHEN BRAUER joins Pernod Ricard USA Wines this month as vice president and general manager. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in the US wine trade for almost two decades.
Brauer joins the French giant from Beam Global Spirits & Wine, where he was chief marketing and strategy officer for Beam Wine Estates. His impressive CV also boasts a stint as CEO of Peak Wines, prior to its acquisition by Beam; and 16 years with Seagram Chateau and Estate Wines Company, ultimately securing a role as senior vice president of marketing. Notable highlights of his impressive 16-year tenure include the repositioning of the company’s Champagne business, and forging the way for New Zealand wines in the US with the launch of Brancott Vineyards.In his new position, Brauer will be based inPR USA’s Purchase, NY, office and will report directly to president and CEO Alain Barbet. He will be responsible for overseeing the third-largest wine portfolio in the US market, and will also manage the Mumm Napa Estates. Brauer officially took on the new role on 14 August.
